On Jan.30, 2019, DSIC Design Institute organized to hold a forum for 2019 situation and task education and new product development of offshore engineering, where DSIC General Manager Yang Zhizhong and heads from relevant departments attended the forum. Yang stressed at the meeting, respect knowledge, be bold for innovation and enhance crisis awareness and sense of urgency.
At the meeting, the Design Institute made a report on new product development of merchant ships and offshore engineering, the Marketing & Sales Department made a market analysis on merchant ships and offshore engineering, and DSIC leaders in charge of marketing and sales, development and technology made exchanges and discussions on relevant issues.
Yang analyzed shipbuilding market and situations faced by DSIC. He pointed out, since the current shipbuilding industrial market situations are complicated and severe, make proper judgment in the situations of business, design and scientific research, give full play to DSIC’s advantages, define main breakthrough directions, and take effective measures in accordance with the 2019 work plan so as to ensure various tasks to carry forward smoothly.
Yang stressed, first, set up the crisis awareness, and increase design and research and development with sense of urgency to assist the Marketing & Sales Department in seizing orders from market; second, closely follow the situations, speed up product structural adjustment, constantly optimize and upgrade VLCC shiptypes on the basis of traditional advantages, accelerate in pushing development of high-value added and high-tech shiptypes like LNG and FPSO; third, work harder to build good atmosphere in technology advocation and intellectual respect, provide a platform for young troops, speed up cultivation of talents and enhance core competence; fourth, keep forging ahead, be bold in innovation, work from the source, seek for differences through benchmarking with the advanced, and put efforts in forging fist products with stronger competitiveness.
