On September 5, 2019, the Naming Ceremony of 37K DWT chemical tanker, constructed for Spain ELCANO by DSIC SHGSIC, and Hundred Boats Celebration Ceremony were held successfully. It’s the first time for DSIC SHGSIC to built a chemical tanker, which is also the 100th ship that is built and delivered for domestic and foreign shipowners. Mr.Juan Manuel Arana, Executive Director at ELCANO, Li Guoyong, Executive Vice Mayor of Qinhuangdao City and DSIC Leaders Yang Zhizhong, Yao Hongshan, Dong Xiaodong and Zhang Yuhuan attended the ceremony.
Built by DSIC SHGSIC, “CASTILLO DE ARTEAGA” ship is the new generation of brand type ship with strong market competitiveness, which is also applied the detailed design of Design and Research Institute in DSIC for the first time. The ship is classified by BV with a total length of 176.9 meters, a molded breadth of 16.2 meters and a designed draught of 10.2 meters. The ship is an energy-saving and environment-friendly ship. During the construction process, for the first time, equipment systems, including desulfurization scrubber, variable pitch propeller, flap type rudder, nitrogen device and so on, are installed; COT is coated specially; stainless steel pipe is also fabricated and installed. It vigorously promotes the fabrication and installation technology of modular unit and greatly improves the maneuverability and flexibility of entering and departure of the ship at the same time. With low oil consumption and fast speed, the ship meets the requirements of IMO 2020 and is well received by shipowners.
DSIC SHGSIC will regard this ceremony as a new starting point and set a development strategy goal of “ To be strong and excellent in ship repairing, to be enhanced and expert in shipbuilding and to expand the military-civilian integration industry” for the new era. With the principle of being responsible for shipowners and achieving a win-win result for both sides as always, DSIC SHGSIC will optimize design continuously, manage production precisely, strive to improve shipbuilding indexes and build quality ships for shipowners.
